Timelines vary depending on the complexity of the work. 

Most residential concreting projects can take 1-3 days, for more complex or staged jobs expect around 5 days.

You can walk on your new concrete within 24 hours; however, you cannot drive on your new concrete for 7 days. 

It is recommended to seal concrete as the final part of the installation process. Sealing the concrete assists in protecting the concrete from fading due to sun exposure, staining and other damage. Sealing the concrete improves the overall appearance by giving it a glossy finish. 

If concrete has been freshly poured, exposure to heavy rain can washout some of the concrete on the surface, compromising its strength. If rain is forecast for the day we are due to pour, the team will be in contact to reschedule. 

Exposed aggregate is a decorative style of concrete where the top layer is removed to reveal the natural stone and textures underneath. It offers a stylish, slip resistant surface and is perfect for outdoor areas like driveways and pathways.

Concrete can be ground down to reveal the stones providing a smooth finish throughout which is perfect for outdoor entertaining areas, this finish can also be used inside homes which provides a Terrazzo style finish. This can be done with plain or exposed concrete dependant on which stone will suit your project best - this is called Polished concrete.

Not all concrete needs to be sealed, we do recommend that all decorative finishes should be sealed. Sealing your concrete protects it from the elements keeping your concrete looking new and makes it easier to clean. There are two main types of concrete sealant we use at Q State.

• Acrylic concrete sealer which we use for exposed concrete, coloured concrete, stencil/ concrete resurfacing which provides a glossy finish. This can also be semi-gloss or matte finish.
• Penetrating concrete sealer, typically used for polished, burnish or honed concrete finishes which provides a natural look/feel and does not alter the appearance
